Most things go wrong because people skip a stage, or do not know they are in one. Your plan shows every stage, so you can see what is coming and prepare for it.

The stage most people skip entirely, going straight from "thinking about it" to buying a plane ticket. This is where the most consequential and hardest-to-reverse mistakes happen.

After choosing, before landing
Once a country is chosen, the window for certain preparations closes fast. This stage is about executing correctly in the time before arrival, when the cost of mistakes is still manageable.
Stage 3
Months 0-12 after landing
The first year is the most fragile. Early decisions in this stage compound, the right ones build stability, the wrong ones create problems that take years to undo.

Year 2 and beyond
